COMMITTEE SEEKS CANDIDATES FOR DISTRICT FIVE BOARD OF DIRECTORS POSITION.
United Electric Cooperative Services, Inc. (United) is searching for qualified candidates to fill the cooperative’s District 5 vacancy on its Board of Directors as a result of an unexpected resignation by the previous director.
The District 5 position, an unfulfilled three-year term, is not up for election until October 2027. Per United’s bylaws and board policy, as such when a board vacancy occurs, the Board President shall appoint a Director Search and Selection Committee comprised of three directors from the board and three members from the area in which the vacancy exists.
Once appointed and ratified by the board, they shall consider candidates who reside in the area where the vacancy occurred and who meet the director qualifications described in Section 4.02 of United’s bylaws. This committee shall recommend candidates to the board. Any interested, potential board candidates should fill out an online application.
After discussion of the recommendations, the Board of Directors, by an affirmative vote of a majority of the directors, shall appoint a new director to fill the vacancy from the committee recommendations. This director will serve until the Annual Meeting of the year in which the term for the District 5 director position expires (October 2027) or until such time as a successor to the seat shall have been elected.
