UNITED ELECTIONS: LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD
A key principal of the cooperative business model is local governance. The Bylaws of the cooperative specifies detail as to how the governance of the cooperative works; director elections are an important step to ensure members have their voice included in the governance and thus operations of the cooperative.
Each year, as specified in the Bylaws, the Committee on Nominations meets to consider who it wishes to nominate to be a candidate for election. The Committee on Nominations met on April 9, 2024.
The Nominations Committee selected Tommy Cantrell for District 3, Southwestern Hood County (Bluff Dale/Tolar); Clifton Hall for District 4, Eastern Johnson County (Alvarado and Grandview); and John Jones for District 5, Johnson County Area (Keene, Joshua, Godley).
The Bylaws of the cooperative allows for Candidates by Petition from the membership as well. If a member wishes to utilize this process for being a candidate in the 2024 Director Election for District 3, District 4 or District 5, they should contact Lindsey Mobley for more information at (817) 447-9292. The completed petition shall be completed and turned into Lindsey Mobley at the Burleson office no later than the close of business on July 1, 2024.
