BURLESON—Following the installation of the trunk lines that will feed the world wide web into the homes of United members at lightning-fast speeds, workmen began installing the servers, batteries and other devices used to run the whole operation inside the headend house.
Marcellus Nixon, (pictured abocve) United’s vice president of broadband services, said the wiring of the servers inside the headend house was one of the most important steps in the process and said he wanted to make sure everything was done correctly from the beginning.
Nixon said he has spent countless hours undoing shoddy workmanship in headend houses because attention to detail was ignored during the initial build-out at other organizations.
He said he wanted to ensure all aspects of the initial installation were correct so that future repairs and upgrades can be completed seamlessly.
