CAST YOUR BALLOT IN THE 2025 ELECTION FOR DISTRICTS 6 AND 7
At United Cooperative Services, the voices of our members matter. We’ve been owned and governed by members since our inception in 1938. Your vote in our annual board election is your voice in your cooperative, a chance to weigh in on leaders who will represent you and your interests.
In 2025, members will elect United Board of Directors in Districts 6 and 7. Elected directors serve three-year terms. United encourages all members to vote for any director running for election—even those who do not represent their geographic district.
This year’s balloting also includes the conducting of a vote on whether to amend United’s Amended and Restated Articles of Consolidation (“Articles”) at Article VIII, Section 2. This proposed amendment, if passed, will reduce to 1% the quorum requirement for annual or other meetings of United’s membership except when otherwise specifically required by the Articles. Failing to obtain the applicable quorum at membership meetings can prevent necessary business from being conducted on behalf of United and its members. This amendment is considered by your Board to be in the best interest of United and its membership and is being proposed to reduce the risk of substantial cost and delay that would occur in the event the 5% quorum requirement currently in effect is not attained in the future.

Voting for Board of Director seats begins when United members receive their ballots in the September issue of Texas Co-op Power magazine. The 2025 Annual Meeting will be held by phone, NOT in person. The election results will be announced during the meeting.
Starting Aug. 30, cast your vote online by clicking HERE and using your MEMBER# and PASSCODE. These are located above your mailing address on the September issue of your Texas Co-op Power magazine. Alternatively, you also may complete your paper ballot in the September issue of the Texas Co-op Power magazine and either mail the ballot to Survey and Ballot Systems (SBS) in the provided postage-paid envelope, or submit the sealed ballot in person at any cooperative office. Voting is the sole means to determine the existence of a quorum (at least five percent of the cooperative’s membership)—required to conduct business at a meeting of the members. All ballots—whether submitted online, mailed or in person—must be received no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, October 10, 2025, to be counted.
Members can select from the following:
-
Sharay Boynton
-
Dennis Hughes (incumbent)
-
Board recommendation is "For"
The election results will be announced during United's Annual Meeting on Friday, October 17, 2025, which will be virtual.
