Patsy Dumas has served on the board for United Cooperative Services since 1990, where she formerly fulfilled the role of secretary-treasurer before being named in October 2014 as current president of the Board. Previously, she has served on Texas Electric Cooperatives’ Rural Friends/ACRE Committee and as board secretary-treasurer. Professionally, she has served as a local community banker for more than five decades. She joined First National Bank of Burleson in 1999 as vice president, providing personal and business loans. In 2008, she was elected to the Board of Directors. Later in 2013, Dumas became a commercial lender. She was honored in 2015 by the Texas Banker’s Association as a 50-year community banker. Dumas and her family are longtime Burleson residents. She has been an active member and former chairman of the Burleson Area Chamber of Commerce. Among her many professional and civic distinctions, she has received many local and national awards, including Burleson Citizen of the Year; the Byron Black Character Award from Burleson Character Council; the ATHENA Award; Rotarian of the Year; Paul Harris Fellow; the Rotary Builder Award; and the Citizen’s Excellence in Community Involvement Award.
